The weather the other day was perfect…just a little heat but a lot of breeze. That got me thinking about a friends wedding coming up soon that will take place at the beach. Off to make this card I went and two sweet birds became one (corny). I started off by mixing lots of pattern paper from Basic Grey. Then came the layering of paper, birds and tiny flowers. I tied a small piece of tulle on one end to make a veil for the bride and placed a small bow tie on the groom. A paper covered chipboard heart in the middle and a tiny tag that reads love finished this card.

It’s Elzybells challenge time and for this weeks challenge we were to create a get well card. This card turned out to be many layers but I think it would lift anyone spirits! Starting with paper bag colored paper I first stamped hearts (seasonal sentiments 2) in each corner. I then stamped get well wishes (tags-Floral circles) over and over again to get a pattern going. In between the sentiment I added lines and dots. I got a little carried away on the layers so I left the last sentiment simple. The embellishments were last and included buttons, ribbon, and a single stick pin. The buttons and ink are both chocolate brownie!!

Today is day three for Elzybells sneak peaks and it’s all about words. This stamp set is called mum & dad so you can mix different words to get your sentiment perfect. But I have to be honest that when I first received these stamps I couldn’t think of a thing to create. After sketching out some ideas this is what I came up with and I thought to myself that was easy!! So here’s my first creation!

I started out with a paper bag color as my background and tried to keep the card simple. So I layered on notebook paper, measure tape ribbon, and silver buttons. I stamped Happy Father’s Day using vanilla cardstock and chocolate brownie ink. Last I used the chocolate brownie ink to distress a chipboard letter and placed a paper clip in one corner. I think this card makes the perfect father’s day card!

My second creation…well let’s just say that I got alittle carried away! I started out by decorating a notebook with pink and brown paper. I then went crazy with the embellishment part adding, tulle, buttons, and hearts. The hearts were from the January release (Tags-Valentine) and stamped with chocolate brownie ink. This sweet notebook needed something more so I used a glassine bag for it to be placed in. The front of the bag was embellished to match the notebook and this stamp set (mum & dad) allows you to mix up the sentiments so this one reads: Thank you for your LOVE. I love things in threes so I also created a matching tag and stamped LOVE in one corner! Enjoy!!

Day two of Elzybells Sneak Peak is all about these cute little birds on clouds. So for these two creations I used the Bye bye birdie set which has two birdies and 6 sentiments. I love that this set has some sentiments that you normally won’t find in other stamp set. So with that said let me show you my first creation….

This notebook is perfect for that someone who just needs a little luck or just a place to store notes and lists! After covering the notepad in bright paper I added orange dot ribbon down one side and made streamers to hang off the side. I colored in my image with watercolor pencils but with a light hand. After added some white dots here and there I then added stickles glitter to the cloud. Last I tied everything up with twine and a mini tag that reads: Good luck!

The second creation is a card using the same paper but this bird has got to move on. His bag is packed and and he’s ready to leap from the clouds. I wanted to add some color to the clouds so I stamped the image twice onto pattern paper and then placed over the original image with foam dots. The little tab top was stamped with bye bye birdie and all that was left was to add a few buttons and ribbon. This is a great card to give to that someone who is moving up in their career!!

Another month of releases for Elzybells and I know I said last months was my favorite but now I love these! Today’s creations were made using the stamp set Just Hatched. This set includes little birds, branches, and sentiments! My first creation is a sweet wedding card that reads congratulations and has two sweet little birds. After stamping and coloring in the birds on the branch I stamped a small heart which is from Seasonal Sentiments 2. To finish this card I added buttons, ribbon, and stick pins. This makes a sweet and simple wedding or anniversary card!

My second creation is a baby invitation that has been placed in glassine bags. I started out by covering the bags with baby boy paper and then applied the just hatched sentiment with pop dots on a scalloped circle. The inside holds an invitation that I have stamped birdie feet across the top and then added two small chicks. Everything is tied together in the glassine bag and embellished with buttons, tulle, and a stick pin!

This Elzybells challenge was all about Kraft paper and Kraft paper only! Sometimes I miss my patterned paper but I’m really impressed with myself on how this has turned out! Using kraft for my base I used a black pen and my white gel pen to create lines and dots. After stamping my image onto another piece of kraft paper I used my watercolor pencils to fill in but using a heavier hand to get the colors just right. I added gems to the middle of the flowers and dots to the clay pots. After stamping my sentiment I tied everything together with more lines and dots. I placed both the stamp and the sentiment on foam dots for dimension. Simple white ribbon and a single black button finish this card!

Boy was this a challenge for me! The challenge this week from Elzybells was to create a single layer card. I love using layers of paper and stamps together but I held back and followed the rules. I started out by stamping the image on a scrap piece of paper then cut it out. I stamped the lamb (from me to ewe) in the middle first onto white card stock and using removable adhesive I layered the cut out image on top. This allows you to stamp two more images without over lapping the first image. Remove the cut out image and there you have it, three lambs all in a row! I then colored in the images with watercolor pencils and stamped the sentiment from me to ewe. Last I added purple ribbon across the top. I really love the results of this card and be sure to join in on the challenge to win a prize at Elzybells!

Day two of Elzybells sneak peaks and I am loving these cute little birds. I started out using paper from October Afternoon mixing stripes with circles and tying them both together with springtime ribbon. I distressed the edges with a little sandpaper and inked other edges with Cinnamon Spice. I colored in the image (Hide & Seek) with my watercolor pencils and water brush. The more I use these pencils the better I’m getting. (I think!) For some added sparkle I used some stickles for the flower centers and polka dots for the rim of the pot. Last the sentiment You make life fun was added in the corner with pop dots.
