This is one of my favorite tins so far for the holiday season!!  I started out with a naked band aid tin then added pattern paper from Making Memories.  The trees were also cut out of the same paper and foam dots were used to make them stand out.  I then went crazy with embellishments such as ribbon, flowers, and stick pins.  All five tags match perfect and fit right inside the tin.  The tin is a perfect gift in itself being just the right size for gift cards, money, or jewelry!

box3This shouldn’t be happening but I’m getting into the holiday spirit!  I work retail and the holidays are not always fun but I have found some paper and simple embellishments that are making me happy.  I bought this plain silver tin at Michaels a couple of weeks ago and it has been waiting to become something.  A tin with three matching tags is what I came up with and I love how cute it turned out.  The paper is from Rusty Pickle, the flowers are from Making Memories, and the stamp is from Stampin’ Up.  I placed gold gems around the base,  cute little trees on the inside of the lid, and heart stick pins on each tag.  You could use the tags for gifts and the tin for a gift card or jewelry!!

Upcycled Gift Card Holder…

I tend to hold on to various containers and tins because you never know when you can reuse!  So I upcycled this tin gift card holder from a retail store by covering it with paper and embellishments.  After I adhered the paper I used sand paper around the edges for a distressed look.  I then dug in my stash to find the right stamps and found a journaling block and a birthday stamp…Perfect!  Tiny ivory flowers from Making Memories and blue pearl gems make this the perfect tin for gift giving!

Free Mini Albums Idea Book

I love reading about new craft projects and ideas.  One of my favorite magazines to purchase is CARDS by Northridge Media but they run about $20 each month without using a coupon.  Today I found out that you can subscribe to the whole family of publications for 9.95 a month (there is also a  24.95 one time price).  For that price you will receive monthly viewing of Scrapbook Trends, Cards, Bead Trends, and Simply Handmade.  For checking out their site you can also view for free Mini Albums. But for all this price think about the ideas you can get and view them whenever you want, print them for inspiration and its environmentally friendly.  After viewing the mini albums ideas it made me think about creating!  I went upstairs and made this band-aid tin with mini book tucked inside.

The paper is from Basic Grey Wisteria line and with embellishments such as buttons, blue pearl gems and rub-on stitching this turned out to be a perfect gift!

Love is in the Mail…

I found this cute little mailbox at Target in the Dollar Spot.  I thought this would be so cute with paper and embellishments and if I hate then I lost $1.00.  Here is what I started with…paper, PVA, tacky tape, sandpaper, and random embellishments.

step1

Start by sanding the surface so the paper adheres better.  Wrap the paper around the surface and trim to fit.  I inked my edges and used a border punch to make going under the flag easier.

step2

step3

Here you can see some of the embellishments I chose and how the box is taking shape.

step4

I added a few more embellishments to the back of the box and used my mini bottle caps to spell L O V E.  All this box needs is a couple of matching cards to go inside.

step5

Four little cards to go inside and the box is complete!!
