Create A Package Challenge…

I can’t believe that I’ve completed another card challenge from Elzybells.  This time it’s about the packaging and I chose this clear card box.  I kept the box itself pretty simple just by wrapping it with paper, twine and adding a button.  I then created four cards using Basic Grey paper, ribbon, and stickles.  I stamped the image on matching paper and cut out the dress for a paper piecing affect.  I have found that you can’t go too crazy on the embellishments if you want them all the cards to fit in the box so all I added was a stick pin through the ribbon!

Elzybells is blog that I check out daily for a dose of inspiration.  I decided to step outside my box just slightly and take part in a Star Challenge.  I used one of my favorite stamps which I colored in with watercolor pencils.  I then added some glitter snow and stickles for sparkle.  Embellishments were last which include a star brad, plaid ribbon, and cute matching buttons.

A sweet card that reminds me…

I love the holiday season for all its glitter and sparkle and creating cards with sparkle is my favorite!!  I kept this card simple with only using a strip of cardinal paper from Making Memories and a Merry Christmas Rub on.  I then added plaid ribbon, red stickles and mini holly leaves.  After the card was done all I could think about was my grandma.  She passed away a couple of years ago and I always think about her around the holidays.  She also loved watching birds and cardinals were one of her favorite.  I think this will become my Christmas card this year and hold a special place in my heart!

holidays  A simple Happy Holidays card made from kraft paper and a border stamp.  I used my dot embossing folder and my cuttlebug to create the background.  I then stamped my border, added some stickles, and adhered to the base.  I then ran my plaid go to ribbon up the side and tied it all together with a stick pin.  I think these may become my mom’s Christmas cards this year.  This is diffently a card you can make in bulk!

Happy Holidays Card…

I’m back from vacation and ready to get busy on making some cards!  Here is a card I created for a challenge inspired by Embellish, a new magazine hitting the web in early December.  They were looking for cards using Red, Brown, Kraft, Turquoise and incorporate twine.  I started out by using some paper with all the right colors from Bo Bunny.  The trees are cut from the same paper line and foam squares were used to add dimension.  I then added stickles to the trees, small pearls for snowflakes, and tied twine across the bottom to tie everything together.  I can’t wait to see if my card makes the cut!
